Q: I know what I would like to do, but don’t have any plans. Do I have to get plans drawn up before I contact you?

A: No. Our consultant will visit you in your home and discuss your requirements. We can discuss your project and advise you of what options you have and what would be the best way to go about it. We have inhouse draft persons and can arrange for your plans to be drawn if required.

Q: Will we need Council Approval?

A: In most cases, council approval is required, along with a full set of plans and certification. You don’t need to worry. We take care of it for you.

Q: How long does Council approval take?

A: It depends on the individual council, their workload at the time, the size of the project and if there are any out of the ordinary requirements such as relaxation orders. It is good to allow 4-8 weeks.

Q: Do we have to move out while the extension or renovation is being done?

A: While exciting, extending your home is a disruption to your daily routine. We understand this, and do our best to minimize the inconvenience and as much as possible, respect your privacy and limit the intrusion. On larger projects where water, electricity or other services are interrupted, it may be necessary to vacate your home for a short period of time.

Q: Will my extension look like it has been added on?

Q: How long will it take to build our extension?

A: It depends on the size of the project. Small extensions can be completed in 12-18 weeks after plans have been approved. Larger extensions can take approximately 18-22 weeks. It depends on the complexity of the extension. We will be able to give you a good idea of the time frame on viewing your plans.

Q: What can I do if I have questions during construction?

A: With Complete Home Extensions, you are not just a number on a contract. Every job, big or small is overseen by our construction manager and the CHE team. You will always have a person to call who can assist you with your questions. We also use a builder’s software package “CoConstruct” which you can download the free app and be connected to your building project.
